These things are so easy to lose. I lost a set and basically gave up on the whole concept.

There are three separate pieces, stored apart while in use, and it's an item that may need to suddenly be put away, like if you run into someone in the bus and want to have a conversation (passthrough is not perfect).

At minimum they should be tethered together, to be somewhat hard to lose, but cords tangle.
