When asked if Apple could been located elsewhere:

"Apple is headquarter-centric....maybe it could have been in Boston, but Steve's feet would get cold when he walked around."

Regarding crapware preinstalled on computers:

"Apple doesn't insult it's customers in the first ten minutes with its product."

There is a reason it's called crapware.

>Can we just skip the debate over the definition of stealing?

Sure. But can we all agree developers are free to choose how they license their work?

>the Bill of Rights has been deprecated.

Things aren't so black and white. You could argue that we should be allowed to yell fire in a crowded building, but most people agree that should be discouraged.

As for all information should be free, obviously you would have an exception to restrict the flow of your private information. And then what is considered private...

"Fire!" has nothing to do with the speech, and everything to do with the induced actions. The first amendment is also a terrible example, as it foolishly says 'congress shall make no law', and thus has little meaning to begin with. An actual example is how civilians are prohibited automatic weapons but meanwhile they're standard issue to individuals in the military. People would like to think USG is bound by logical rules and so invent complexities to cloud their understanding, but the fundamental truth is that a straightforward, simplistic reading of the Bill of Rights shows that it has little bearing on modern society.

As to copying, the problem lies in trying to restrict the flow of information between two consensual parties based on some notion of third party control. This arises from privacy (that you're trying to assert would not exist). As actual policing of private copying is impossible, we end up with selective enforcement based on bad luck or personal vendettas, which is immoral. Reality should drive the model, not vice versa.

Are there petitions for poverty and healthcare somewhere?

If the country you are in agrees.

"Prosecutors and Dotcom’s lawyers agreed to the delay" - Washington Post

Looks like his lawyers sold him out.

An earlier story quoted his lawyers saying that a delay was pretty much inevitable, they totally saw it coming and expected it. Kim then went whining to twitter about how the US is using "delay tactics".

How do you equate that sentence with him being sold out?

Shouldn't he have had his lawyers protest the delay so he can be quickly exonerated by his overwhelming innocence.

He had 2 options:

1. Agree to the trial being delayed for 9 months so the US can return the evidence... which really should only take a couple days

2. Go forward with the trial without the evidence proving he's innocent.

I really wouldn't say they sold him out

Are there programmers and graphic designers that are City employees?

I don't see why not. But even if they are contractors and not full-on "city employees" they are still likely to be working on city issued equipment which makes their actual employment status a moot point.

I believe that Retina display devices are too hard to disassemble to qualify for the program.

Is this an all-or-nothing thing? All other Macs are just as hard or easy to disassemble as ever. And iPhones or iPads are much harder to disassemble than the Retina MacBook Pro.

The EPEAT rules required that 95% of your products comply with gold to keep your gold.

Isn't PadLister a direct competitor? CL is right to tell you piss off. No one is falling for this "man of the people" crap, it just makes you look dumb. Sorry to be harsh but you seem to be deceiving yourself, why not start a legitimate business?

PL was more of an insurance policy to collect feeds and other listings directly (it helps people post them back to CL). I'd be happy to take PL down if those were the terms for CL's complicity in keeping the CL search results.

>insurance policy...CL's complicity

What are you talking about? I can't parse this gibberish. I know you feel CL has no rights to their own site, but what the hell are they complicit in? The further you go down this road the more time you waste.

Have I done something to offend you? I'm just saying that I made that in the hopes that if I ever had to take CL search results off, PadMapper wouldn't be mostly useless. If CL wanted me to take PL down as a condition of them being OK with my site searching theirs, I would make that trade happily. I'm explaining that my goal isn't to replace them/threaten them/etc.
