There is such a smartphone. But then you can't use your bank's app because it uses hardware attestation to ban alternative operating systems, and most banks require the app for 2FA or don't have a functional web portal at all. It's going to be even worse once governments roll out age verification apps that use hardware attestation.
Luckily my bank still allows a fob type device as 2FA. But of course your point is valid.
It's a travesty that this behavior is allowed, of course, but as long as it is, I'd keep the cheapest possible regular smartphone around for this purpose alone. I'd try to think of it as an unwieldy fob-like device.
There will never be a third large OS unless Google Play Integrity is legislated out of existence. And it looks like governments like Google Play Integrity so that won't happen
The end point is going to be you will only be able to connect to the Internet with a device that passes hardware attestation so people won't be able to tinker
Magisk only works because Google still supports devices that don't support hardware attestation. Very soon you won't be able to fool Play Integrity without hacking the TEE
Phones with unlockable bootloaders aren't going to be sold for much longer just like dumb TVs aren't sold anymore. There's just too much profit to be earned by corporations locking devices, plus banks and governments want to lock down phones. And once they lock down phones they'll go for desktops as well.
Maybe in the US, but not in my country. I tried looking for "signage displays" but all I could find was Samsung professional monitors that still had the smart stuff
Reddit shouldn't even try to go IPO. It's basically a collection of forums. They should be a private company that makes a small profit hosting the forums instead of trying to be like Facebook
Both. Lots of people live from welfare or cushy government jobs where nobody does any work. And lots of politicians give money or food to win elections.
In Argentina Wikipedia is notorious for parroting Kirchnerist propaganda. There are people whose entire job is to make sure every topic related to Argentinian politics follows Kirchner's narrative
