Because not everyone wants to make money by selling out there users. There was advertisement industry before it was even possible to track users.

You actually didn't respond to my question.

Reworded my question is, if Google can't make it work why do you think some random company that isn't Google can?

Your response is very emotional and if you aren't interested inc conversing with me civilly please don't.

Google can't make it work because they need to sell out there users. A random company does not need to do that. Even google doesn't do that if you're an enterprise user. So you see google does make it work if you pay them. The same way you can pay a random company.

That would be akin to saying you can access your President by giving up your passport. I can't believe people are defending this.

If you truly believe having to log out to read a tweet is akin to giving up your passport, you are insane.

Yes, losing passport is exactly that. Logging out makes me unable to access normal abilities a twitter user(american citizen) has. If passport analogy doesn't suit you, try incarceration.

This comment affirms my adjudication.

I wonder if Elon deliberately blew up Zuck's satellite.

India still manages to produce godmen like him. The latest one on the top of the list is 'Sri Sri Ravishankar'. Previous to him was one called 'Asaram', but he and his son are behind bars now, for raping several women.

He said he doesn't need apology, because someone at System76 had already apologized on the reditt thread.

If that's the case then the matter should be closed. System76 was under no obligation to ship with LVFS support and it slipped due to other constraints.

I've been reading through posts on Reddit seeing if I could get a better understanding of the timing of what happened, if anything it's worse now but it seems that Richard's principal contact at System76 held off on notifying him until the release was finalized and is no longer with the company. (https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/8i6swc/system76_and_...) It's unclear if he left before or after the release.

Judging by the all of the inaccuracies in Richard's blog post about the timing of announcements, nature of the application, and the platforms it supports, which all reflect poorly on System76 and benefit his argument; I'm inclined to agree that this is a FUD campaign to shame System76 into supporting LVFS. If you take into account his blog history of shaming companies (e.g. Razer), and his speaking about himself in the third person on reddit; Richard really sounds like a self important twat who is trying to strong arm everyone into using his software.

It's like seat belts. You cannot sell a car without seat belt regardless of customer's choice. The customer's choice come later whether or not he wants to put on the seat belt.

Car = Service

Seat belt = Tracking protection

Normally I'd agree. But it's not the case here. Fredin(the man) is the one who was "online shaming" women, and it fired back at him. Can't say he is a victim of online shaming then.

No...but it is a little confusing.

Ok, there is a woman Lindsey Middlecamp, who has a twitter account [1], where she 'calls out' men overly concerned about womenfolk not dressing chastely enough.

Here's a fun tweet: https://twitter.com/CardsAgstHrsmt/status/986304355753185281

Ok, so this women believes that women should be able to dress as sexy as they want without fear of reproach. So far, so good. God bless Lindsey Middlecamp!

The reason she comes across as a wacko is because she seems to think male toplessness is the equivalent of female toplessness. It's not. Women will not pay money to see men topless.

Then, as alleged by Mr. Fredin, she launched an anonymous attack against Mr. Fredin, falsely accusing him of rape.

Mr. Fredin, a bit piqued, responded by unmasking his anonymous harasser, Ms Middlecamp, and gave her a little payback.

Ms Middlecamp went to court and got the court to grant her an order, preventing Mr. Fredin from letting anyone know that Lindsey Middlecamp is the person behind @CardsAgstHrsmt.

That last part is the constitutionally-suspect part.

I wasn't in any way defending the lady. Just that the guy is not at a higher moral ground than her, including the fact that he has multiple restraining orders against him since before this incident.

Ah ok. In that case he made himself vulnerable.
