Pi-thon?

Plumbers, engineers.. we’re also all just dealing with $#%^ all day right?

Yes— there was a time where the free headphones were this style and you could bring your own electrically conductive headphones (with the right adapter, since it had separate RTS jacks for left and right channels) to enjoy a slightly better and louder sound quality

I vaguely recall this was an important fact to know for a 90s puzzle video game.

Maybe it was The Seventh Guest? Or Myst?

I recall there being a clock face puzzle in The Seventh Guest but I couldn't tell you if it involved that fact.

Can't be Myst as they have their own base 25 numbering system :)

(Ok, that originated from the sequel, but it's still canonical to the universe.)

Or, are the machines training us to train them to train themselves?

Turtles all the way down my friend

So a reminder from the terminal that I am also terminal?

Since this whole saga is so unbelievable: what if... board member Tasha McCauley's husband Joseph Gordon-Levitt orchestrated the whole board coup behind the scenes so he could direct and/or star in the Hollywood adaptation?

In the next twist Disney will be found to have staged every tech venture implosion/coup since 2021 to keep riding the momentum of tech bio-pics

Loved playing Kalanick so much that he couldn't help himself from taking a shot at Altman? Makes more sense than what we currently have in front of us.

That would at least make a more damned sense than "everyone is wildly incompetent." At some point Hanlon's razor starts to strain credulity.

> That would at least make a more damned sense than "everyone is wildly incompetent."

It seems to be one of many "everyone except one clever mastermind is wildly incompetent" explanations that have been tossed around (most of which center on the private interests of a single board member), which don't seem to be that big of an improvement.

Oh I’m not saying there’s a clever mastermind, I’m just hoping they’re all incompetent and Gordon Levitt wants to amp up the drama for a possible future feature film, instead of them all just being wildly incompetent. Although maybe the latter would make for a great season of Fargo.

I've heard piña in SoCal, but once visited Costa Rica and heard ananas. Disclaimer: I don't speak Spanish.

I also heard in Costa Rica bananas referred to as patacones instead of platano, so I'm guessing there's a lot of regional-specific vocab at play here...

As far as I can tell, patacon (as well as platano) is plaintain - not banana.

Or we could save all that effort and just check the Wikipedia page... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Air_Force_Plant_...

I always assumed the creator of JSON was named Jason…
