My impression is the profit margin of B2B anything relies on selling things with high price tags to people who won't actually use the product and under-deliver the product to the poor souls who have to work with it.

I agree, and also know my own personal bias against this particular company and whatever extent I might go to boycott or avoid its products are ultimately inconsequential to their bottom line.


1998 was just on the cusp of the Nerd Liberation era


I asked our IT manager and our employee badges have RFID plus some kind of timestamp check or something. The secret handshake is actually secret I guess. Lot of information out there but mostly guarded by radio nerds who talk like you should already have an EE degree.
