Currently working on a new project: https://fetchfavicon.com for getting the best quality favicon from any website. This came out of necessity for a desktop app I was working on, used https://icon.horse before, but the site has been down some days and wanted to build something more reliable for myself. It turns getting favicons right is a lot of work but got most of the hurdles figured out.
Currently working on supporting batch favicon requests that bundle multiple URLs in a single image sprite.
YouTube has become annoying with the AI thing. I live in the US but speak Spanish and consume almost 80% of content in Spanish and my OS and Keyboard are in Spanish, yet the thing is not able to respect the Accept-Language headers :(
My wife and I recently started sharing our passion for cooking at https://soulfulsabor.com. Got WordPress set up to get things running and focus on the cooking and photos. Wordpress turned out to be hyper complex for my taste and needs plugins for a lot of things, so I'm starting to develop my own static site for specifically for food blogs, not wanting to turn it into a product but just to add simplicity to our own workflow. The cooking side of the project is really fulfilling after a long day in the computer, it feels great to do something tangible with quick results. Got a bunch of bread recipes to upload soon.
Not only that, most of the construction and home services companies are usually the white American folks that come and give you a very inflated price and then send you the immigrants to do the actual hard work. It's crazy when you speak to the people doing the work how much they are getting paid vs how much you are paying.
Working on sourcing IP geolocation data for my little site https://www.ipparrot.net and adding more sections like Networking Glossary and some networking tools.
