This is cool. And I get where you are going with this...
Being endless is a power. And having structure ie. being able to emerge structure out of this would also be powerful.
I like it. If you make it open source, or maybe a plugin system would allow people to add what they think it would be needed without you having to implement it.
Or just play with this and see where it takes you.
Hey that's my website! It was actually my first website and I wanted it to look good so I appreciate the compliment. I had no idea what I was doing so I just went with the minimalist trend - picked 2 colours and 2 sans serif fonts and stuck with that.
This is how it used to be before, they would slide your card through that machine thingy, it would copy it's digits and they would process this sometime in the future.
and then you reboot the machine with full session restore working (whenever that's available for wayland) and get 500 terminal windows opening at the same time :)
This is what we all want, to be in control. I am OK to make a mess sometimes as long as it is my mess not because of magical system. So yeah I would be OK.
Some kind of alert task that would tell you you have window open that you didn't visit in days would probably also be useful to your point.
I am not against it, just I can see positives in this. This is like tmux without tmux.
Oh, i actually agree with you, I was more concerned about the suprise abd amusement of seeing that amount of windows pop up out of nowhere. Though, I do wonder how well a linux computer will deal with so much forking, if it freezes the machine for a minute it would be rather bad, but maybe linux and wayland are mature enough to not freeze and spawn all that in like a second or so
I think this is awesome tool, but somehow using fish shell does most of what I need and rarely I reach for it. This is not a critique of Zoxide, but just the fact that this is not as big of a problem once it was.
Honestly speaking, I did not expect this level of traffic on the site, there was a slowdown in the mail sending service, it is fixed now, please try again.
Looks like it might still be struggling with the HN hug. I tried it, I gave it three easy topics to use, it understood them and tried to produce the web page, but it still says “Videos: 0” for all three groups.
You can still get your fix in quick enough to benefit from some of this traffic spike, go for it! Good luck.
I have a digital studio that needs to find good companies to pitch them my services... just searching LI is not very helpful, this is way better.
Also, as a place that uses Elixir... I can find all the new tools and cool projects without watching endless videos on Youtubes... As I want to spend most of my time working on projects, not trying to catch up.
I think this is excellent, thank you for making it in this format.
What I picked up from this vision of the future... we will have mind reading devices to capture out thoughts, but we will still be on a train and commuting to work... dang...
So they came up with this groundbreaking idea but couldn't come up with better use case then typing on a train.
Look, I can't but not appreciate that at least they are doing something interesting as opposed to vibe one shot fork of vs code things that we see.
