We are looking for 2 mid to senior level software engineers to join our new Growth team in SF. One will be a frontend only role and the other will be full stack with an emphasis on frontend. You'll own our website and personalized landing pages doing things like rapid launches of different iterations and then a/b testing to see how we can drive growth.

I don't think it'd be possible to remove sports from American colleges - it's the closest thing the NFL has to a developmental league. Also I believe it's where most Olympic athletes go to train and receive coaching.


Well all that, but more importantly, it makes a shit ton of money for the top schools. No way they'll agree to get rid of it.


I think this might be true of the startup is focused on building a web app since that's what most bootcamps teach. From what I've seen bootcamp grads are weaker candidates than CS grads because at least CS grads know enough theory and engineering to learn how to build something.


Wonder how storing and transporting artificial meat compares to the real thing.

Unrelated - anyone wanna invest in my new startup? We're gonna cross DNA from a spider with a chicken to produce 8 legged chickens to disrupt the chicken market. Hopefully we don't get spiders with wings.

This is really interesting. What are the profit margins like? Can't imagine it would be easy to substantially undercut any traditional office space.


It's almost a different business like AWS vs. colocation of your own servers.

Traditional office space is long term leases.

Coworking spaces give you month-to-month.

With traditional office space, you're responsible for maintenance, like cleaning. You have to hire people and manage them.

Coworking spaces do cleaning for you.

Coworking spaces also try to do more things for their customers, like hosting events.

Yes, you probably pay more (although there are economies of scale) but the product you get is different enough that direct price comparisons are not applicable.
