Doesn't matter, it's just speech. If you want to say free speech doesn't apply to certain classes of persons then this should be made very loud and clear so these persons can avoid coming to the USA.
the supreme court in Harisiades v. Shaughnessy (1952) said communist party affiliation (even past membership) was reason to deport non citizens.
This is well known in legal circles. This isn't something hidden. A US Citizen can be a member of the communist party (same first amendment, right of assembly), while a non citizen doesn't have the same right.
One can argue that this decision was wrong. One can argue that it is immoral, but its well known, and any immigration lawyer should know this decision, and know the risks their clients are taking on by some actions of theirs.
Complex, but as far as mechanical calculators go AFAIK not over complicated. Or is there a simpler mechanical calculator design that packs the same functionality in such a handy package?
I would forgo handy package part. I think someone built a 3d printed Curta and it turned out 3-4 times the size of the original so much for being "handy". Maybe we should try a Odhner or Brunsviga or some other design.
No, honestly Rust has just really crappy attitude and culture. Even as a person who should naturally like Rust and I do plan to learn it despite that I find these people really grating.
Not the whole story. As an example I just got a new scanner. It's almost twice as fast as the ten year old scanner it replaced.
Or I got a computer with a larger hard drive. Less mental overhead in managing files.
I loaded my macbook pro from 2015 recently and it runs great (though past security updates). But the fans spin, as they did in 2015 as well. Newer Apple Silicon blow it out of the water, including on say video editing or other areas where bloat isn't the issue.
There's a lot of genuine technical improvements in ten years that aren't just keeping up with bloat. These are prosumer use cases above but the same sort of thing applies to corporate systems.
