In Brazil, you can send money to individuals, businesses, government entities... essentially anyone with a bank account, and for free. And the transaction doesn’t take minutes, it takes seconds.

It takes seconds in the uk too, a minute is just hedging as in some cases it could take longer but this is rare.

Yes, companies do value CS degrees. They are not obsolete. The era when jobs were handed out without proof of qualifications has passed. Nowadays, companies seek evidence that you are a valuable asset, and a respected Computer Science degree is often highly regarded.

Normally my workflow is: My advisor provided me with general research direction, and from there, I conduct a SLR to identify gaps in the literature. This helps to find areas where research is lacking or where new approaches could be explored. Once I identify a gap, I refine it into a specific, viable research problem that aligns with both feasibility and innovation. The SLR also helps me see what methodologies have been used and what potential solutions might work.

Growing up in South Brazil, my childhood was filled with tropical vibes. I remember the sweltering heat, with temperatures often between 29-35°C. Santa Claus, dressed in winter clothes, would be sweating and nearly fainting. Our holiday meals were a unique mix of turkey and barbecue, and the adults always had plenty of beer. It was always a big family reunion, with 15-30 people gathering together. Crazy to think about it.

I’ve lived in Brazil for 29 years and have never been mugged. Brazil is an enormous country with many safe regions. Don’t believe everything the media says—go out and have your own experience.

I am currently a Full Stack Developer at a Brazilian credit union. My work involves a broad range of technologies, from popular languages like Java and Python to niche tools such as AutoIT. I have a Master’s degree in Applied Computing and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. I am also pursuing a PhD, furthering my research and expertise in the field. My academic credentials are enhanced by a deep passion for researching and solving real-world problems that yield significant and positive impacts.

If you can secure a scholarship, I would definitely recommend going for it. You’ll gain a lot of knowledge and earn respect with a master’s degree. Whether it leads to something more depends on how you use your degree and the opportunities you create for yourself.

This is the most misguided opinion I’ve encountered. While it’s your perspective, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
