I had similar experiences playing the computer in Tzar: Burden of the Crown. It’s not chess but it is a strategy game.

I use it a lot of scaffolding and when there’s a lot of bulk creation or editing to do. A lot of the busy work that normally would take awhile to do but doesn’t really require deep knowledge.

You’re not really required to with anything in HTML or to even use HTML, you could do everything plain text if you wanted

I probably glossed over it in all the posts but…

What is a BGP?

It's the protocol used by carriers to route traffic globally. (Make automated decisions about which core router should receive the traffic coming out of your AS ("network", kinda) )

It's entirely detached from anything else so you're pretty unlikely to have heard of it. In that way it's similar to SS7.

The Internet is a network of Networks, BGP (Boarder Gateway Protocol) is how routers tell other routers what networks they are connected to. This allows you to connect to any device on the Internet, even if you have to go through 5 different networks to get there.

I really don't like web site designs that take control of things like my mouse wheel. This site isn't just scrolling down, it's advancing the presentation which in most places is moving down.

it-tools is one I use often and have setup locally.

I like that prism.tools seems to be 100% static, so it doesn't require node to run like it-tools but I would imagine there's probably some tasks it couldn't do.

Yes, there are definitely things that can’t be done in the fashion of Prism.Tools but there are soooo many that can!

That's pretty much exactly what happened to me. At the very least, I wish I had stored all the DVDs away somewhere. :(

I cancelled all my subscriptions this year and working on getting JellyFin up and I was thinking of paying for GameFly or some other DVD service and start putting a library back together. Torrenting just seems icky to me and I am not convinced I could find good copies.

If you have a local library they can often get most anything eventually.

What about your local public library as a source? (that's worked for me)

Like restoring to a particular save point in a game after you've done something stupid.

That's their 5th amendment rights.

I'm not so sure that AI will cause major harm as much as the AI fixation some people have to implement it.

It's the do-gooders who we should most fear will press the big shiny world-ending button.
