I remember reading an article back when wifi was new about a company using some of the same wireless technology for wall penetrating radar for military/law enforcement applications. I don't remember if one was borrowing from the other or if it was developed in parallel. I guess this is the next evolution when you can do both with one box.
Does this mean I need to shred my tinfoil hat and blow it around the room as chaff?
It sucks for Google Fiber ( and anyone wanting the service), but it's been a win for consumers in Google fiber markets. In places where Google has only announced they're going to go the existing providers have already started offering higher speeds. One of the dreaded ISPs close by announced gig speeds within months of Google's coming soon announcement.
AYP is out. The goals looked good on paper, made good sound bites for the news, but weren't realistic. NCLB is out too. The new thing is the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Right, but ESSA is less than a year old; NCLB and its AYP-based incentives spent nearly a decade and a half shaping American school outcomes (and many of the state and local laws and policies established in order to meet NCLB requirements and the incentives of the AYP system haven't been revised.)
ESSA, OTOH, maintains the basic structure of NCLB, including the same kind of accountability system, but leaves detailed setting of standards and interventions to the states. It may weaken, but seems unlikely to eliminate, the pressures against advanced promotion (particularly in grades 3-8, where it continues the requirement for annual testing) created by NCLB and its AYP-based interventions.
Here's another one that's a brand you may have heard of and it also does multiple voltages too. Only $15. Can even get it as a kit if you don't have a Poe switch.
I'm glad to hear someone else is interested in a Poe powered board. I thought about making a pihat that did Poe extraction but you'd still have to use a short cat5 jumper for data.
I used software where every page looked like those designs. Apparently the developers would get a request for feature 'X' and would just add a button for it. There was one screen with a button added for one very particular process unique to us that probably caused head scratching for every other user.
