American Christians are extremely individualistic... As long as your individual interests coincide with their rigid moral code and what they see as a "good Christian lifestyle". Seems right to me
That's funny. I come at this from the opposite direction. I like to run stuff on my home server, and I started a ROM collection because of Romm. If you're used to managing a media collection using jellyfin/Plex, adding roms feels pretty natural.
Maybe this project is appealing to a totally different audience than most ROM managers
It would narrow down what you could do by quite a bit if you are limited to 6 seconds per shot. While that is average, there are many shots that are longer. Also, you bring up a good point about consistency between shots. That doesn't seem like as hard of a problem, but it's still a big one.
I don’t care if the normies dont do long shots. The best movies have very long shots. Children of men or 1917. Until AI video gen can get past 5-10 second shots of slop, we won’t see any major critically acclaimed AI movies or related.
What I meant is if I want to run an open source OS like LineageOS. In principle this is possible, but Play Integrity will refuse to work when you have a custom ROM.
The key fact here is that the president was elected by the people in a time of crisis (both for the country and the world). Laws are not perfect, sometimes you have to be bold and take risks. The election is a seal of trust to get the job done.
Now if a president is not doing their job, not improving the lives of the citizens, and doing things for personal gain, that's another matter. That was more of a description of the previous administration, but I know I will probably get some downvotes here for saying so.
Removing data about provably unfair things like DEI is only going to upset people who still are hanging on to any hope that it will return. BTW, I check several of the boxes for DEI, and I'd rather it be gone as well. That ship has sailed and the president decided it is time to move past that phase for the greater good. I wouldn't call that an abuse of power. And even if it was, the same people saying so cried wolf so many times before, that it undermined trust in the system of checks and balances. So here we are.
Maybe for now. But I think there's a good chance the market for diamonds goes the same way as the former status symbols that became common, like purple dye[1], or pineapples[2]
In the case of diamonds, you have the choice of buying the exact same product with human suffering involved, or without. If there were a lab-grown iPhone on the market, of course I would choose it
to me, programming is playful math. I think I would have enjoyed math a lot more as a kid if we learned programming alongside the traditional math lessons
Dogs don't automatically love either, you have to build a bond. Especially if they are shelter dogs with abusive histories, they're often nervous at first
They're usually loving by nature, but you still have to build a rapport, like anyone else
When mom brought home a puppy when we were kids it loved us from the start, don't remember having to build anything I was just there. Older dogs, sure, but when they grow up with you they love you, they aren't like human siblings that often fight and start disliking each other etc, dogs just love you.
