AI writing often leads to word inflation, so getting the original more concise one is helpful IMO. Hiding it is the annoying part, marking that you use AI to help you and having a 'source code' version I think would go over much better. If a person is deceptive and dishonest about something so obvious, how can you trust other things they say?
It also leads to slop spam content. Writing it yourself is a form of anti-spam. I think tools like grammarly help strike a balance between 'AI slop machine' and 'help with my writing'.
And because they are so low effort, it feels like putting links to a google search essentially. Higher noise, lower signal.
Uhm, is crossing?? Mate, you're going to have to reverse direction and travel back about eight years to find that line.
I feel like most of this is Microsoft's fault. As MS lowers the bar for what's acceptable on Windows, Apple just has to be somewhat-obviously better.
Additionally, Google's ad-driven economy set a low bar with Android, but that platform has always been that way. Together, those platforms make it really easy for Apple to posture as being considerate.
> I think there's a slight premium for "out of town" acts
In the EDM world, it can often be much more than a slight premium. Ever since streaming took over music sales, performance fees have become the key source of income for most artists.
That's a good point. In fact, I'm not a full time musician, but performing is my only source of musical income. I've never bothered with trying to make money from recordings.
I do know some indie artists who make a bit of extra money at performances selling CDs to people who still buy them. I think it takes advantage of the immediacy of the moment, and the fact that a lot of people are actually not savvy about finding stuff online.
It depends on the music and scene that interests you. Most SF nightclubs are event spaces that host independent promoters of recurring events, so the music and attendance can vary. You'll generally get best results if your friends will be there and you want to see the performing artist(s).
If it's buried in about:config, it's not a feature, it's just a dev tool. (FWIW, I read that config settings may reset during updates, so at best it's just a temporary patch.)
It's like saying you have a responsive website, but only if I edit the layout in the DOM.
