Going by the history of OP, it seems to be a propaganda account targeting RSS with low quality article submission like this one. Is this allowed on HN?

Of course it's not allowed, and we've banned the account.

The best thing in such cases is to give us a heads up at [email protected] so we can take care of it sooner. Often we have no idea that something like this is going on unless/until users tell us about it.

The author can archive it on the internet archive. That will be proof of timestamp.

> 1922 that R D Banerji, an ASI officer, believed he saw a buried stupa, a mound-like structure where Buddhists typically meditate. This led to large-scale excavations –...

The officer initially believed it to be a Buddhist stupa. Excavation revealed the true historicity. A platform is easy to be mistaken with a stupa, without more context.

Will you port all subsequent patches to the parent repo to your fork? And test them?

For simple patches on my end, I'd port them forwards. For complex patches, I might hard-fork development and find like-minded people to send patches to me instead of the original upstream. Or if the codebase or changes are too complex to work effectively with, I'd abandon the project and treat it as radioactive and failing to satisfy my requirements (or even be correct).

Google has only 2 months to appeal to SC. And the govt will most likely get the appeal dismissed by the SC immediately.

It is a long process. They can appeal as a first step to the Competition Appellate Tribunal. Then after that to SC. Then even if the appeals are all dismissed they will get some time to comply. Don’t expect the entire ruling to stand as is during this process and don’t expect any actual on the ground changes for a 2/3 years more.

Google Pay was not installed in my android phone. Bought in August 2022.

Nokia

I don't see SC deliberating too much on this issue. It's a policy and commercial fairness issue. Also, The SC has been leaning in the direction of libre and privacy friendly software so far.

The SC is not there to negate every government decisions.

SC may not negate. But CCI rulings can be appealed in SC. And that process will take time. You can be sure Google will appeal and drag things. And while I don’t expect SC to overrule the whole decision some elements will get eased for Google in the process.

A non-working example would be a bad example.

Indian here. I don't understand what your friend meant. Can you please elaborate?

Thus is a dog whistle for casteism. This is a standard modus operendi of a certain section of opinionated people to drag caste into any discussion about India. Caste is a complex topic but this discussion has nothing to do with it.

Haha, that term doesn’t mean what you think it means. But it’s alright.

My point was that OP reckons India is great to return to. And I agree, it is! As long as you’re an upper caste male, like OP and I are. And even if that makes you uncomfortable, it is pertinent to the discussion of whether someone should go back to India.

Ironically, people like you insisting we shouldn’t discuss caste only makes this conclusion even more certain. We can’t fix what we won’t discuss.

No we should definitely discuss and eliminate casteism, no disagreement on that. But you don’t comment “White male privilege” in all the other posts, right?

Well, OP just said they're not a white male so this shouldn't be surprising. They're commenting on something they likely understand better.
