How do I do get the right result when trying: 200Mbps * 2hours? I get "400 Mbits/s hr" and that's not what I'm looking for. It seems to be working if I use seconds instead. 200Mbps*2s=400 megabits

`200 Mbps * 2 hours in Mb` the second one works because the derived unit of the calculation works out to be exactly the same as a megabit, but that's not the case for the first one so you have to convert manually.

I gave up and started sleeping.

And then some sellers converted 1000 Lire = 1€. I still remember looking at shop windows and seeing everything doubling in price. Instant inflation and instant poverty....

I guess what I would like to get is some quick analysis showing how much further away Webb has been able to peek in the abyss close to the big bang. I assume from that POV the interesting part will be the red-shift measurement of the reddest galaxies in the deep field. So the pictures are "beautiful" per se, it's the accompanying data that is still missing

"“This transformative hospital price transparency rule has been fought at every step by the swamp and defenders of the status quote,” White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement."

Is "the status QUOTE" actually a thing now?

Yeah I was wondering if this was misreporting or if the actual statement has this mistake. It looks like the press release is worded correctly but it's possible it's been edited. But every news org out there seems to have the word "quote", which shouldn't have passed any editor's desk without adding [sic] if it was indeed issued mistakenly, or fixed otherwise. But nobody gives a crap anymore about language or editing.

Second only to quid pro quote

One year between the acquisition and the take down seems a lot of time. It may seem they were not even trying?

Been thinking this since January. Did not have the guts to do it.

Can you provide the source for “Italy stopped testing at some point”, please?

A co-worker from Italy told me. But you can find this for example here as well: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/03/italy-south-korea-dif... "Italy started out testing widely, then narrowed the focus so that now, authorities do not have to process hundreds of thousands of tests." (I don't normally read Aljazeera... just found this using Google.) It matches what my co-worker told me. See also https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/covid-19-testing/ (I have no clue how reliable that source is)

I live in Italy and I'm not aware of any changes in the procedure for testing. If I read the worldometer link you provided what I see is that both on March 2nd and on March 9th Italy was second only to Korea in number of tests performed and that we moved from 386 tests per million people to 1005 in the same period. What am I reading wrong?

Very similar to my thoughts. I'm also considering the possibility to defend myself. This may be provided by the "not too densely populated" one (but things are supposed to change in that respect in case of the big trouble). So potentially an elevated, or hidden place?

I've wondered about the likelihood of needing to defend myself, but since I'm completely incompetent in that regard, I'll have to opt for security by obfuscation.

In my musings, the two things that most worry me is an acute shortage of fresh water, and that any hospitable place I choose is also going to attract hordes of other climate refugees that will outcompete me. There are places like the Pacific North West of the US that are likely to fare relatively well in the Climate Wars. Yet these regions will also attract climate refugees from elsewhere in the country. Canada has a lot more amenable landmass to work with, and relatively fewer people to compete with. Ironically, Canada's acceptance of refugees with open arms gives me pause, since it suggests a likely destination for global climate refugees (ghastly of me, I know). In that respect, NZ's geographical isolation and sparse population strike me as huge pluses.

Are you aware of CUETools, CUERipper and the ctdb for ripping and repairing? Just wondering if it would have helped your case. It sure helped me recovering some damaged old cds. Available at http://cue.tools/wiki/Main_Page Not the author but a very happy customer
