Think of it the other way, if Lockheed martin were to start a Gmail, GDocs equivalent tomorrow, would you use their services knowing how closely they work with the military? Would global users be comfortable using it? The whole PRISM fiasco isn't far from this. What's stopping the Pentagon from buying access to users data? It's a trust thing, imo.

Well yeah. The term "military grade" is one that tends to sell products.

If there's no end to end encryption, I assume some three letter agency already has access.


I make use of GE related products all the time and GE does military contracting. I fly on Boeing aircraft and Boeing makes military aircraft.


Yeah but GE isn’t in the business of collecting personal data about you and selling it. Google business is data not jet engines

Them working closely with the military would not be the reason I would choose not to use their service considering that almost all emails already go through NSA servers.
