For me it's email or chat (telegram/whatsapp/signal/skype); it used to be forums actually when they still 'worked'. HN/subreddits are quite good but I notice that usually (HN the least, Facebook the most) social media has engagement only when either party is trying to score points (likes/whatever), so me: 'we have a new feature!', them: 'I can build this in a weekend with react node, why would you pay for this?'. Aka not much engaging going on; advertising or whining...
My users are generally happy when I make new stuff for them.
It sounds like the people you're talking to on Facebook aren't your users at all. They're just commenting on your announcements which are showing up on their feeds for some reason.
