Facebook does not "sell" data and has absolutely nothing to gain by selling it or sharing it with Cambridge Analytica.
CA abused a legitimate feature that allowed users to delegate access to their accounts. My comment is about how this lawsuit will set a bad precedent and restrict API access even further (hindering legitimate usage) without doing much to prevent abuse (because people can just share their credentials instead).
