Looking at the research paper, this is in figure 2 https://www.frontiersin.org/files/Articles/634158/fnbeh-15-6... People that take hand notes was better than people that used a tablet, but no better than people that used a phone. That's weird, and looks like a fluke.

This is in figure 4 https://www.frontiersin.org/files/Articles/634158/fnbeh-15-6... The data is too noisy, and the intervals almost overlap. I doubt some will be able to reproduce this.


This is an interesting result, and makes me wonder if there are things that can be done to strengthen the effect even further, like randomly varying each page's color, texture, weight, pattern (blank, lines, grid), etc.
