Raspberry Pi Stock

The Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry Pi 4 Compute, Raspberry Pi 3B+, Raspberry Pi Zero (and most of the rest are obsoleted) are all out of stock on alibaba. I couldn't find a source anywhere.

Searching on ebay you find people selling Raspberry Pis at substantial markups.

I'm not really quite sure how much detail is needed to make that newsworthy, or if this was already obvious and known to people, but it seems worth mentioning. Digikey had 52 week lead times, but that could have just been some default.

I wonder how much this supply chain difficulty will result in people designing their own computers rather than relying on integrating something like an Arduino or a Raspberry Pi due to being able to repair and substitute things more easily if they're lower level.

They wrote a blog post about the state of their supply chain a few months ago: https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/supply-chain-shortages-and-...

Yeah, I read that so I was quite surprised that those state of the art units are entirely out of stock too. It is clearly quite a lot worse than that blog post says. I was ready to buy a 3B+, 4B, Zero, anything compatible with their camera, but every single option (including a 4 compute board plus an I/O breakout) wasn't in stock.

If you run into a more recent update I'd be curious to hear, it's only been two months so I'm surprised that the situation on the ground seems to have changed so much without comment.
