Article does not seem to take into account that the service tracks the aircraft and not the person? Or that sometimes aircraft move between airports for maintenance/service reasons. Or that Mayweather might actually co-own the jet with a couple of other people?
Now I'm not saying that any of that occurred or did not occur. I'm just pointing out that the author didn't even consider these things.

If the tax is high enough that we can use it to pay for capturing the released carbon again, then I would be fine with letting them enjoy their luxury. And it's not like you'll be shocked by fuel costs after you bought a private jet.
The fact that these people are douchebags shouldn't be used to vilify general aviation on the whole.
Electric planes now exist that could have taken any of the cited flights, had only the perpetrators given enough of a rat's ass. And if we allow developers and the local hack politicians they own to continue destroying our nation's aviation infrastructure (AKA small airports), innovations that reduce pollution and noise will become non-viable.
