The Left Is a Labor Movement, the Left Is a Worker's Movement (freddiedeboer.substack.com)

This is interesting considering the level of contempt with which the modern left treats the middle American working class. Nowadays it looks more like the party of the Laptop Class.

The 20th century left and it’s postmodern incarnation are two very different things.

What are some key examples of contempt in your mind? Maternity and paternity leave? Health care coverage that covers pre-existing conditions? Workplace safety?

The referenced NYT piece isn't against work, it's against overwork and overscheduling. Show me where it's "anti-work" within its context.

Of course "seizing the means of production" would be a useless folly... without production. The whole goal of Marxist thought was not to SHUT DOWN the factories, it was to run those factories so that society as a whole would benefit from the profits (rather than the small group of wealthy people that provided the seed capital).

Nowhere did the idea of "antiwork" enter the lexicon. It's always been a question of: "Who benefits from your work?"
