Back when second life was a thing one of the main components was creation. There were editing tools built right in to the project.

Tools like tilt brush have made it easier than ever to create 3D content.

So why is facebook's premier MMO completely devoid of any content creation tools? Why are there no games for any of these platforms with embedded scripting? Why are all these games so focused on passive consumption?

Could be that content creation tools are hard to do and the need for moderation. Second Life had a problem of easily accessible penises, while Minecraft servers have an issue with swasticas.

So what? That's what an open platform looks like.

The whole project just screams desperation. I don’t know what they are making or who they are making it for. It is utter nonsense.

My guess is Mark Zuckerberg is gone if this fails. It is back to the drawing board. They will need to bring in someone to shore up the core business and then extend to new opportunities.

Why would they, zuck just made a big show of ordering everyone back to the office. If you're in the office, you just book a meeting.
