I do this too. I meet someone who expresses an opinion relevant to the liberal/conservative divide. Based on which side it better matches, I fill in the rest of their opinions for them.

I feel bad for doing it, but it seems to work astonishingly well. Had I not told you, you probably wouldn't have been able to tell.

I guess I just meet a lot of people with moon-shaped opinions.




You should feel bad for doing it, because it only contributes to the growing divide between people. There's a fairly large cohort of people with opinions that straddle both sides of the aisle from whom you couldn't fill in most of their opinions based on just a single opinion.
