I guess this is sort of Musk’s brand similar to how “virgin” is Branson’s brand. Now we have SpaceX, X, Tesla which has a model X, and of course PayPal which Musk originally called X.com.

All things considered I do think X is one of the coolest letters, and his companies are (mostly) in the business of doing cool shit, so it seems to fit imo.
