Software engineers panic about being replaced by AI (businessinsider.com)

Really? I don't know a single software developer who has tried out AI tools and then come away with fear. Most see it as a potential productivity enhancer that also has the possibility to be a time suck.

All of the "programming is doomed" talk I've seen has been from journalists and pundits. Wonder if they're mainly interviewing their friends for quotes.

It is simple as that. Software engineers were working to "kill" the jobs of others pretending they are helping progress.

Now it is there turn. Our society is based on cannibalism and arrogance and such phenomena are normal in this context.

Disclaimer: I am a software engineer.

We do? I am not. I know several others working at other places, and none of them are. I'm sure somebody is, but not anyone I know.

Other jobs are replaceable by AI advancements as well. Who cares
