This is beautiful. I like the intro, it resonates. The Protean desire, the desire to be vast & powerful resonates to me as something not very dealt with, as something taboo. It's fun & useful framing.

The whole article though feels mostly like a discussion of jealousy & insecurity though.

> The Titans, dressed in full armor, are beings inflamed by jealousy. They see everything in terms of struggle, feel attacked by the gods, and seek the power to become gods.

It's a setup setup to show problems. I personally don't feel like many of the problems line up with what Titanous parts of personality I have.

> As titans we are haunted by the feeling that our friends, bosses, lovers, and powerful people are competing with us. They attack us, seeking to destroy our sense of worth and to steal what we have.

Absolutely not. I don't think being a titan makes one be a thin skinned zero sum hollow person. Most of the examples follow in this vein.

Personally I'd love to see a better positive spin on trying to live large on this earth, on shooting for doing huge things, for following deeply that which one finds to be important to themselves.

The actual problems of the titan are less about the Titan, and more related to thr normal sized form of most of this planet's inhabitants, related to other people's jealousies & insecurities. The Titan can be confident & secure in their path, not socially pressed to prove points or be accepted, if they have a real connection to the great tasks & ordeals thry have before them.

You make good points. The Titan fully realized, in my opinion, aspires to the ideal of the Warrior which I think can be valuable to cultivate.

You should check out this article: The Warrior and The Sage. I read it a few months ago, and it was meaningful in helping me understand how there might be more.

As a Warrior:

My purpose is overcoming resistance. Life is a series of battles, and the most important are zero-sum struggles that must be won.

My world is a battleground, an athletic field, a negotiating table. It's also, at intervals, a victory party, a hospital, a funeral.

I view others as fellow combatants. Some are allies, some are opponents, and sometimes they switch sides, which I must bear in mind.

I view myself with rigor. I know my strengths and maximize their advantages. I know my weaknesses and keep them hidden.

My thoughts and feelings fuel my dedication. I maintain an open mind, but also strive to convey my passion and conviction.

My goals are of paramount importance, in part because others are depending on me to achieve them. I'm committed to success.

As a Sage:

My purpose is learning and helping others learn. Life is a series of mysteries, and the most important can't be solved but must be studied.

My world is a classroom, a laboratory, a carnival. It's never just one of these things, and sometimes it's all of them at once.

I view others with curiosity, because I don't know who they really are. Even if they're my students, they may also be my teachers.

I view myself with amusement. I've learned enough to realize how little I know, and I discover my wisdom when I embrace my ignorance.

My thoughts and feelings come and go, as thoughts and feelings do. I acknowledge their influence while holding them lightly.

My goals are flexible, because I know I already have what I really need. I'm committed to a process without being attached to a given outcome
