There is no way to keep deer out of your garden. You can build 8 or 10 ft high fences, and they will still insist on browsing your salad bar. Ask me how I know? Well, because I lived in Paradise, CA. Whole families of deer will try to get in. Invariably, one of the small ones will injure itself and die on standard chain link fencing. If you don't want that, regular wood fences are better at providing a fence that they can't "climb". The downside of wooden fences is they burn and they don't resist wind as well.

Accept deer will stop by your yard periodically and don't be upset when they do. If you don't want some nontoxic tasty flowers eaten, then don't plant them outside. Plant other plants that deer know to avoid.
