Awhile ago, I had the idea that it would be nice if I could pick a "scenic" route in Google Maps instead of just the quickest one. This route might be a little longer, but it would have more trees, less car traffic, go by artistic monuments, and so on.

It seems like something that would be fairly simple to implement, technologically, and isn’t fundamentally different from rating restaurants/shops/etc.

Interesting, it looks like it just suggests beautiful places to see while you're motorcycling, rather than constructing a route that deliberately goes by them? In any case, pretty cool.
