Speech-to-text is Whisper API, although that seems to have caused a couple of errors tonight so am considering moving away from it. Will have to have a think and do a lot of testing. I feel your pain, I've also been a stuttering mess in Romanian.

maybe add a VAD in front of it? faster-whisper uses silero VAD.
