Its a similar color to the local deer. Much better choice for the local environment, apparently.

I want to establish herds of wild giraffe here in TN. If we can stabilize this color that'll help.

But is the local environment for which that color is better suitable for giraffes?

Deer tend to live in forests or on the borders between forests and open areas.

Giraffes live on savanna’s and open woodland, and might have to get shorter to live in denser forest.


Cool idea, I was just thinking about the viability of wild New World giraffes the other day. Really see the deer/camel relation without the spots.
