Work your network making it known you are available for hire. Don’t use platforms such a upwork, they are simply a race to the bottom.

Agreed with this. The vast majority of my work has come through word of mouth. I've only found time wasters on Upwork who generally have high expectations and low budgets.

Anything that pays. Low skill is fine.

I don't think I'd find a programming job.

In that case I think local temp agencies are what you’re looking for.

I use zenjob since a while and am quite happy with it.
