Using shellac flakes and Everclear makes a wonderful finish for woodworking. Add in some boiled linseed oil (BLO) and you get an enjoyable shine with the OB Shine Juice recipe.

Why can we not synthesize this stuff by now? Seems like we know what's in it, and a cheap and non animal derived version would be pretty useful.
