Neat. This reminds me of a set of scifi books I read awhile back about alien spaceships we found, but don't know how they actually work. People get paid large sums of money to risk a voyage by essentially pressing random buttons and seeing what it does/where it goes.

The series starts to fall off when it gets toward the 3rd book, but still an interesting concept.
