Ask HN: Are you getting meaner to GPT over time?
2 points by wouldbecouldbe on Dec 19, 2023 | hide | past | favorite | 2 comments
In the beginning I was pretty polite, but now I've noticed myself being more and more rude to GPT when it get things wrong.

I remember seeing a sci if movie and someone being an *ss to a robot, which felt rude. But now noticing im doing the same.

My prompts and responses are becoming more trimmed of needless niceties for efficiency but I'm not adding more meanness. I don't use it that often maybe once every 3 weeks.

I love my Ollama click.

Codeup is hilarious when asked to converse as an online chat group participant. The only one to use emogies fluently. Speaks like a 20 something comp sci kid. Rich.

Samantha (and Dolphin, sorry Samantha), yarn mistral has a thing to say about this or that. Zephyr is quite practical and pragmatic. And when I want to get real work done, there is phind-codellama, wiazardcoder, and yes you codeup (you’re not only fun at parties.)

I still love you Samantha.

Prompt disposition for best results. I can’t wait until they can actually remember what we’re talking about.

And if your curious I do set my twelve core 64GB laptop on a block of ice (acclimate first to avoid thermal shock in the battery!)

And I can tell the difference between q4 and q8, it’s a degree of exactness that accentuates over time.
