Currently ChatGPT and other LLMs interact with the internet predominantly through conventional methods, such as querying search engines like Bing and analyzing the results. At the moment they are just mimicking human behaviour.

I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any ongoing work in communication protocols or tools tailored specifically for AI use?

For example, I imagine a search engine optimized for AI interactions (whatever those may be) rather than human usage.
