Basically, I was told in a conversation that I could import it as long as I took delivery outside of the US first, importing it as my own vehicle “used”. I have addresses in Mexico and Europe I could use, I just have not put forth the effort to try to get the vehicle to there for final transport to the US (buy it while I’m in country out of the US, provide usage to someone trusted to put miles on it, and then import). Stay tuned, I refuse to give up until I have exhausted all reasonable paths to success as an individual (although it’s likely this is not going to scale in any meaningful way).
