The problem of not deleting them [1] is that they can be used as links in email spam like:

fake> Wishlist for V14gr4: http://www.sparkfun.example.com/username/post?number=1337 .

[1] Or at least make them private so only the author can see it, in case you don't want to delete the original content of the corner cases.
