There was a commercial on during the Super Bowl last night that started with talking about how broken the healthcare and food system is in the US. “This system wasn’t built to help us. It was built to keep us sick and stuck” was one of the lines.
Then the reveal was that it’s an ad for Hims & Hers selling glp-1 for weight loss. Not “let’s fix any of the system that is making everyone so sick”, but “here take a drug because we know we don’t have the will to overcome our dystopian system”.
This isn’t me being against glp-1, but something about that ad really made me feel gross.
