But there's no guarantee of that. There are significant differences in how for example, Poland approaches Ukraine with how Germany does it. I think, nations with bad historic experience with Russia support Ukraine significantly more.

I think that is generally true. But Poland had an AWFUL experience with the residents of western Ukraine during the 1940s.
