Hello HN,
I’ve been thinking a lot about how social media rewards outrage and how comment sections often turn into toxic debates. So I built HotTakes, a text-based social media app where people can post bold opinions, but instead of comments, you only get reactions (4 selected emojis). You can post anonymously or with a username, but there’s no following or popularity contests.
My goal was to create a space where people feel free to say what they really think without the fear of online dogpiles. But I also wonder whether removing comments make discussion better or worse?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
