It is an expected loss. Where's the problem?


It would be like billing work on macOS as a loss. You’re not recognising the revenue it drives.

That said, I’m deeply sceptical of the claim that anyone has bought an Apple device because they had to see a certain show.


If it means they sell more iPhones it might not really be a loss. If it keeps competitors on their back foot it might not be a loss. If it keeps Hollywood sweet such that that only the bad guys in movies have Android phones it might not be a loss.

It's like trying to put a rational value on everything in the Amazon Prime bundle, it means something different to everybody.
