This appears to be working brain scan to speech, astounding. While initially targeted at paralysis patients, depending on how non-invasive it can be made, it could announce another revolution in communication, human to computer, to human, and to animal. h/t BrianRoemmele@x


Intentional thinking as an input device sounds like a neat idea but I imagine voice or touch interfaces would nearly always be preferable (at least for me).

Brain interfaces are a great resource for those who need them but I suspect our natural capacity for communication will always be superior to artificial reconstructions of those same capacities.


the holey grail of advertising will be to reverse this so they can serve adds embeded in media, strait into peoples brains, and delivered to the apropriate region, while, ahem, stimulating other brain centers
