This usually interests hn folks. Working there, I can say that mirror metrology (i.e. measuring the mirrors during production), the shape of the mirror and how they're controlled during operation etc are all technically much much more advanced and expensive/secret than polishing.

Also the info is a bit old: high na is all the rage tech wise, although customers are going back to older tech because it's more affordable.
