AI doesn’t replace traditional jobs. Like most technological revolutions, it requires rethinking everything from first principles in order to actually work.

The real AI impact is happening at companies that have never hired anyone yet. You need to think: should this job even exist before hiring and design the processes at your company to achieve good-enough results with AI before even considering hiring anyone. I think Sam Altmans prediction of a billion-dollar-one-man-companies is spot on - you just need a single driver to coordinate AI agents.

Ironically I think YCs all-in bet on AI investments is precisely what will bring about its downfall - one of the first jobs to go will be tech venture capital because you only need VC money to hire.
