I have a printer, but I've lived without one before. I simply went to Kinkos or Staples and printed what I needed. Can't do that as readily when you need something 3d printed, and it's a very capable tool.

I think it's easier to live without one today, as many use cases for printing at home were replaced by just using a smartphone and a PDF reader...
