It's interesting that this has not (so far) turned into substantially empty shelves, or widespread inflation. Presumably it takes a while for the pipelines to empty.

I'm not sure what the distribution of this stuff is. If we're buying less junk that we can live without, it doesn't seem like a problem. If it's critical items like food, tech, transportation... that could hit like a ton of bricks. And if it took months for the pipelines to empty, it could take months for them to fill up again.


Many importers overstocked before tariffs kicked in, so hopefully shelves don't go empty before courts permanently stop the unlawful tariff imposition by the executive branch
