Style and design are relevant to both hackers and startups. Wes Anderson certainly fits the profile... If you are ignorant of design trend setters your are a sitting duck.
I agree with the metric, and a piece about the evolution of Wes Anderson's aesthetic would be interesting, but by that metric this is quite a weak article. It's 90% film synopsis.
